Marketplace Connect used to be a useful app, but at the moment it simply cannot be relied on to run an eBay store.
I am experiencing serious syncing problems with eBay. Images are not updating correctly, inventory is failing to sync properly, and I have now had a main product sell out on eBay without the stock being correctly updated. This creates a genuine risk of overselling and damage to an established eBay listing.
The most frustrating part is that this does not appear to be an isolated problem. Other merchants are reporting very similar issues, yet there seems to be no clear explanation of what is happening or when it will be properly resolved.
When an app is responsible for syncing listings, images and stock between Shopify and eBay, reliability is absolutely essential. These aren’t minor glitches — they directly affect sales and seller performance.
Marketplace Connect is a great idea when it works, but in its current state I simply cannot trust it with my inventory or eBay listings.
I hope Shopify treats the current problems seriously and gets the app back to being something merchants can depend on.
Avoid this app at all costs! I have been using it since it was Codisto, and I never knew how bad it was at everything until I was forced to find another app. I never liked using it, but what pushed me over the edge was when it pretty much stopped syncing photos to eBay two weeks ago. Maybe 10% of my new listings actually got published, some of which took 2 or 3 days to publish.
I set up demo meetings to evaluate 3 other apps, hoping I could find one that would work. This morning I started playing with LitCommerce, and it is honestly so good that I canceled my other two meetings. It is so well designed and intuitive that all I needed was a 5 minute setup video. By this afternoon I had all of my templates set up, all 346 of my items synced to the new app and published on eBay (with only a couple of errors), and THIS crappy app uninstalled!
No telling how much money Marketplace Connect cost me in wasted time and lost sales over the last couple of weeks!
Same problems as Emma Jean's review of August 17, 2026. Over the last year I have had REPEATED problems of pictures not syncing properly with eBay. Marketplace Connect would eventually fix them, but would tell me that the issue was on eBay's end and they are trying to resolve it. Now, in the last 30 days, no new pictures will be uploaded to current listings. Such as we already have a listing, have added additional variants with new SKUs and pictures, but the pictures won't upload. Now, in the last 15 days, I can't even create new listings on ebay. When I contact customer support, it takes about 24 hours to get a response (during the week - no weekend support) and get a repeated response - 'it's eBay's fault'. After 15 days of not being able to create new listings I've had enough. Will start experimenting with other apps.
