Walmart Marketplace Opens to International Sellers

Exciting news coming out today, as Walmart have revealed some big changes that make it easier for international sellers to access Walmart Marketplace.

Walmart have today reportedly made it easier for international sellers to access their third-party marketplace, Walmart Marketplace, by opening it up to non-US vendors without a US address or tax identification.

International sellers were previously limited in their access to the marketplace, with a firm requirement from Walmart that they maintain a physical warehouse presence stateside and a domestic tax setup in addition to Walmart’s already rigorous set of requirements and standards for third-party sellers to access the marketplace.

Competing marketplace offerings Amazon and eBay have long maintained an international marketplace, and whilst Walmart Marketplace will remain predominantly available only to US based customers, this loosening of restrictions for international sellers will increase the range and availability of products across most Walmart selling categories, further strengthening their competitive position as their ambitious online retail plans continue to go head-to-head with Amazon and eBay.

Walmart sales channel is currently available for Codisto Channel Cloud, and domestic and international merchants approved by Walmart can now connect their Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce or Ecwid stores directly to Walmart through Channel Cloud.
